Car window tint

How much does window tint cost in Houston?

Car tint at Texas Tinted starts at $249. The final price depends on your vehicle, how many windows you tint and which ceramic film you choose; top-tier films like 3M Crystalline and HITEK Ceramic Ultra cost more because they block the most heat. Use our instant quote to see your exact price for your year, make and model in about a minute, or read the Houston window tint cost guide.

How long does it take to tint a car?

Most cars take 1 to 3 hours. The time depends on the vehicle, how many windows are being tinted, and whether old film has to be removed first.

When can I roll my windows down after tinting?

Keep the windows up for about 3 to 5 days so the adhesive can set. Small water pockets or a hazy look in the first weeks are normal and clear on their own as the moisture evaporates. Don't press or pop them.

What’s the difference between ceramic and carbon tint?

Both are non-metal and won’t fade to purple. Ceramic film blocks much more infrared heat, so the car stays cooler at the same shade. That is why every car we tint gets ceramic. See ceramic vs. carbon.

Do you tint Teslas?

Yes. Our Tesla tint experts tint every model, including the glass roof, and we are one of Houston’s preferred Tesla tint installers. See Tesla window tint.

Can you remove old purple tint?

Yes. We remove failed film and adhesive, including from rear glass with defroster lines.

Texas tint law

What is the darkest legal window tint in Texas?

On the front side windows, Texas requires at least 25% light transmission measured through the film and glass together, with no more than 25% reflectance. Rear side windows can be any darkness, and the back glass can be any darkness if the vehicle has outside mirrors on both sides. Windshield film is limited to the area above the AS-1 line or the top 5 inches. Because factory glass is not perfectly clear, we usually recommend 30–35% film on the front doors. See our Texas tint law guide.

Is 20% tint legal on front windows in Texas?

No. Front side windows must meter at least 25% through film and glass. 20% is legal on rear side windows and the back glass.

Can I tint my windshield in Texas?

Only a strip above the AS-1 line or within the top 5 inches, at 25% VLT or lighter, not red, blue or amber.

Mobile service

Do you offer mobile window tinting?

Yes. We tint at your home or office across Greater Houston. Your film is pre-cut in our shop before the appointment, so you pick your shades ahead of time. We need a shaded, dust-free spot such as a garage or carport, room to work around the vehicle, and a power outlet. See mobile window tinting.

Is there a fee for mobile tinting?

A trip fee may apply beyond our free travel radius. Your quote shows it before you book.

Homes and businesses

Do you tint homes and office buildings too?

Yes. We install solar control, privacy, decorative and security window film on homes, offices, storefronts and other commercial buildings. See residential window tint and commercial window film.

How do I get a home window film estimate?

Enter your window sizes or photos for a free online estimate at our estimate form, or book an in-home measurement.

Is window film safe on dual-pane windows?

Yes, when the film is matched to the glass. We check each window against the manufacturer’s film-to-glass guidelines.

Do you install 3M DI-NOC?

Yes, on interior walls, doors, cabinets, elevators and fixtures. See 3M DI-NOC.

Warranty and appointments

Which window film brands do you use?

We install 3M™ and HITEK films for cars, homes and commercial buildings, including ceramic films that block heat without metal, so they don't interfere with phone, GPS or radio signals.

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes. We back every tint job with a lifetime warranty against bubbling, peeling and discoloration. Manufacturer warranty terms vary by film line.
