Truck window tint
Ceramic tint for pickups from $249: F-150, Silverado, Ram, Tundra and every crew cab in between. Legal Texas front doors, any shade in back, and fleet service for company trucks.
Quick answer
Texas Tinted tints pickup trucks with ceramic film starting at $249 for any make and cab size, at 2401 Fountain View Dr near the Galleria or at your home, office or yard with mobile service. Most trucks take 1–3 hours. Texas law requires the front doors to let at least 25% of light through (film and glass together); the rear doors and back glass can be any shade with outside mirrors on both sides. Every install carries a lifetime warranty against bubbling, peeling and discoloration, and we tint company fleets on a schedule that keeps trucks working.
A pickup spends its day in open lots, job sites and traffic with nothing between the cab and the sun. Big side glass and a back window that faces the afternoon sun turn the cab into an oven, and the crew or the kids in the back seat feel it first.
We install ceramic film only. Ceramic blocks the infrared energy that heats the cab and your skin without needing dark glass, so the front doors stay at a legal Texas shade and still run cooler. Every film we carry blocks 99% or more of UV, which also protects the dash and seats.
Pickups from our shop, all with ceramic film.

Choose your pickup, then set the front doors and the back separately. Texas measures film and glass together: the front doors must meter 25% or lighter, and the rear doors and back glass can be any shade with mirrors on both sides.
Most crew cabs already have dark factory privacy glass in back, like the trucks shown here. Ceramic film over it adds the heat rejection the factory glass doesn’t have. Factory tint explained
The preview is a guide. Every shade looks a little different on real glass and in sunlight, so we show you film samples on your truck before we start.

Trucks aren’t one shape. Here’s what changes from cab to cab, and how we handle it.
2 doors
Two doors and the back glass. Usually the quickest truck job, and the back glass is where the heat comes in.
Small rear doors
SuperCab, Double Cab, Quad Cab and other extended cabs add small rear doors or quarter glass, each cut to its own pattern.
4 full doors
Four full doors. Most crew cabs leave the factory with dark privacy glass in back, so many owners tint the fronts to match and add ceramic over the factory glass for heat. See factory tint explained.
Back glass
Manual and power sliders are cut panel by panel so the slider still opens and the seams line up, with defroster lines protected.
Add-on
Clear heat-rejecting windshield film, or a sun strip cut to the AS-1 line for low sun on long drives. See windshield heat film.
Add-on
Light ceramic on overhead glass cuts the heat coming straight down without darkening the view.

If it has a bed, we tint it. These are the trucks we see most in Houston.
Ford
SuperCab and SuperCrew, manual and power sliders, and the Lightning’s glass roof on trims that have one.
GM
Double Cab and Crew Cab, including Trail Boss, AT4 and Denali trims.
Ram
Quad Cab and Crew Cab, from Big Horn to Rebel and Limited.
Ford
F-250 and F-350 work and family trucks. Using them for business? Read the fleet section first.
Toyota
Tundra Double Cab and CrewMax, Tacoma Double Cab and extended cab.
EV trucks
Electric trucks with big glass. See Cybertruck tint.

Texas Transportation Code §547.613 applies to pickups the same way it applies to cars:
| Window | Texas rule | Common pick on trucks |
|---|---|---|
| Front side windows | 25% or lighter (film + glass), max 25% reflective | 30–35% |
| Rear doors & quarter glass | Any darkness | 5–20%, or ceramic over factory glass |
| Back glass & slider | Any darkness with outside mirrors on both sides | 5–20% |
| Windshield | Strip above AS-1 line or top 5 in., 25%+ VLT | Sun strip |
We tell you how each shade will read on your glass before we start. The shade is your call. Full Texas tint law guide
Contractors, service companies, energy crews and anyone running a fleet of pickups or vans: we tint company vehicles on a schedule that keeps them on the road.
A truck that counts as a commercial motor vehicle under federal rules, for example one with a gross vehicle weight rating of 10,001 lb or more used in interstate commerce (49 CFR 390.5), must let at least 70% of light through the windshield and the windows beside the driver (49 CFR 393.60). The rear windows are not limited. The rating is on the sticker in the driver’s door jamb; send us a photo and we’ll tell you which rules apply to each truck.
The same five ceramic lines we install on cars. Pick by heat goal and budget; every line blocks 99% or more of UV.
| Film | Construction | Shades | Manufacturer heat spec |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3M™ Crystalline Series | Multilayer optical film, 200+ layers, non-metal | 20–90% | Up to 60% TSER · up to 97% IR rejection |
| 3M™ Ceramic IR Series | Ceramic, non-metal | Light to dark | Ceramic infrared rejection; 3M ownership warranty against fading to purple |
| HITEK Ceramic Ultra | Nano-ceramic, non-metal | 5 · 20 · 35 · 50 · 70% | 96% IR (1025 nm) · up to 71% TSER |
| HITEK Ceramic Black | Dyed base with nano-ceramic | 5–35% | 85% IR |
| HITEK Ceramic IR | Nano-ceramic | 5–70% | 75% IR |
Specs are the manufacturers’ published figures. 3M states performance on ¼-inch, 73% VLT automotive glass. Brands measure IR rejection over different wavelength ranges, so compare TSER (total solar energy rejected) when you want an apples-to-apples heat number. These five lines are what we stock as an authorized 3M™ and HITEK dealer.
