Car tint, plus window film that respects historic Heights homes: installed from the inside, nothing changed on the window itself.
Quick answer
Texas Tinted serves the Houston Heights with mobile window tinting and in-shop service near the Galleria. We install ceramic car tint, low-e and solar film for historic Victorians, bungalows and new townhomes, and storefront film for shops and restaurants on 19th Street and White Oak.
The Heights has some of Houston’s oldest homes and some of its newest townhomes on the same block. Old houses often have single-pane, original glass. New townhomes stack tall windows on three floors. Both benefit from film, but they need different films.
Heights drivers are close to Loop 610 and I-10, and many park on the street or in driveways without cover. Ceramic tint keeps the cabin cooler. Mobile service works well if you have a garage or carport.
Ceramic film from 3M™ and HITEK for every vehicle, starting at $249, at legal Texas shades, with a lifetime warranty.

Front doors 25% minimum (film + glass), any shade in back with dual mirrors.
Learn moreWindow film is applied to the inside of the glass and doesn’t alter the window frame or sash. For historic homes, a clear low-e film like 3M™ Thinsulate™ improves comfort while keeping the original look. If you’re in a historic district or have an HOA, check their guidelines for exterior appearance.
Shops, salons and restaurants on 19th Street, White Oak and Yale use solar film for comfort and UV, and decorative film for privacy and branding on glass.
Window tint is usually the first call, but the same the Heights customers come back for paint protection. Paint protection film from 3M™ and HITEK PPF Ultra starts at $995 for a partial front and guards the hood, fenders, bumper and mirrors from the chips that Heights Boulevard and the freeways hand out. Ceramic coating adds gloss and makes the car easier to wash after pollen season. Many new-car owners book tint, film and coating in one visit.
Every car we tint gets ceramic film. The reason is simple: Texas caps the front doors at 25%, so you cannot get comfort from darkness on the windows next to you. Ceramic rejects infrared heat regardless of shade. Our entry line, HITEK Ceramic IR, starts at $249. 3M™ Crystalline and HITEK Ceramic Ultra are the top tier for cars that live outside or have glass roofs.

Often yes. We inspect it first. Very old, cracked or loose panes should be repaired before film is installed.
Film goes on the inside of the glass and doesn’t change the window itself. Check your district or HOA guidelines about exterior appearance; low-reflective films look like clear glass.
Solar control film on the sun-facing windows, often darker on upper floors where privacy and heat matter most.
Texas tint law applies statewide: front side windows at least 25% light transmission (film and glass together) and no more than 25% reflective, rear side windows any shade, the back glass any shade with outside mirrors on both sides, and windshield film only above the AS-1 line or top 5 inches.
